Remettra, The Company
Remettra, incorporated in 2001 and based in Little Rock, Arkansas, was originally developed as a hosted solution for health plan payors wishing to reduce their overhead by providing electronic payments and their related electronic remittance advices to healthcare providers. It is differentiated from traditional models of electronic payment processing by leveraging the Internet with a secure portal for the registration of provider banking information and remittance distribution preferences. This service was designed from the beginning to aid payers in their compliance efforts with the federal Health Information Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), while also allowing an achievable reduction in costs.

After over $3M in development, Remettra is refocusing it's marketing efforts to aid health plans intending to execute an innovative in-house solution for electronic payment and remittance advice processing. Remettra has successfully licensed it's solution and has designed an effective solution for the aquistion and custom integration and deployment of its solution with a health plan's existing payment processes.

Remettra offers payment and remittance advice services, both electronic and paper, for health plan payors. Remettra's focus is to quickly transition health plans' paper-based accounts payable environments to electronic environments.

The communications software may be used to exchange information between health plans and their network providers and between peer providers.

Remettra's Target Market
Remettra's target market includes companies in the United States that participate in the delivery of healthcare payments to providers. These include health benefit plans such as insurance companies, HMOs, third party administrators, preferred provider organizations, workers compensation plans, prescription benefit management programs, dental programs, etc.; application service providers (ASPs) and healthcare clearinghouses that provide outsourcing services to health plans; and financial institutions that are processing provider payments for their health plan clients.
