We offer almost limitless options for integrating with your existing infrastructure. Payors simply transmit their remittance data file to Remettra in any format (proprietary or standard remittance advice file) via a standard web browser. Our system encrypts these files with industry-standard SSL and automatically authenticates the sender.
We extract the protected health information from the submitted remittance files and store it in our databases for distribution to healthcare providers. The remaining financial/payment information needed for EFT is used to generate an ACH payment file (CCD+) whereby funds are transfered to healthcare providers via those financial institutions with which Remettra has established a strategic business alliance.
We can then distribute standard provider remittance advices (ASC X12N 835, version 4010) electronically via the Internet, in a manner consistent with HIPAA-mandated regulations (paper remittances and other electronic formats are available as well). The Remettra process proactively facilitates the re-association of dollars and data, enabling electronic reconciliation.
The Remettra solution can generate compelling motivation for healthcare providers to transition from a paper-based medical practice to an electronic environment. Coming in 2003, Remettra can require providers to accept electronic remittance advices and direct deposit payments. The payor will have the ability to determine the degree of assertiveness employed by Remettra in this process. However, if necessary, Remettra can continue to print and mail checks and remittance advices.
We base our fees for these services on the volume of transactions and the term and exclusivity of client agreements.
